Registration for Sweden's citizenship test is now open — deadline July 2
Registration for the first Swedish citizenship knowledge test is officially open as of June 8, 2026. If you have received a referral letter (anvisningsbrev) from Migrationsverket, you can register now. The deadline is July 2.
Register at medborgarskapsprovet.uhr.se
The live registration portal is at medborgarskapsprovet.uhr.se. To log in you can use:
- BankID or Freja eID, or
- Your personnummer together with the personal code printed in your anvisningsbrev from Migrationsverket (for those who don’t have Swedish e-legitimation)
UHR’s website now carries an explicit warning: “Det finns ett begränsat antal platser till provet. Vänta inte med att anmäla dig för då kan platserna hinna ta slut.” — there are limited spots, and registration closes once they fill up, regardless of the July 2 deadline. Don’t wait.
Bring a valid physical ID on test day. The test is in Stockholm on August 15. Check that your ID hasn’t expired well before then.
Accommodation pages are now live
Several new pages have appeared on UHR’s website, including a full accommodations section at uhr.se/medborgarskapsprovet/anpassningar. Adaptations are available for:
- Dyslexia, ADHD, and other disabilities
- Visual impairment
- Physical environment adjustments
If you need an accommodation, UHR advises preparing your intyg (certificate) in good time — don’t leave it to the last minute before the July 2 registration deadline.
There is also a new page for people with skyddade personuppgifter (protected personal data): uhr.se/medborgarskapsprovet/anmalan/anmalan-skyddade-personuppgifter.
What’s still missing
Sample questions have not yet been published. UHR has said they will appear “in good time” before the test — keep an eye on uhr.se/medborgarskapsprovet.
Key dates:
- July 2: Registration deadline (or earlier if spots run out)
- August 15: Test in Stockholm (free, limited spots)
